Southwest of Sakurajima Port

There is a Roadside Station named "Hi-no-shima Megumi Kan"《火の島めぐみ館》. Half of it sells agricultural produce made in Sakurajima and the other half is a restaurant. It is the best place to buy souvenirs and have a meal. They are delicious because they are the blessings of the volcano.

 

Turn left at the car entrance of the Sakurajima Ferry and you will find the Rainbow Sakurajima Hotel. Though it is a hotel, it has a large bath that is open to the public. It is one of the places of relaxation for tourists and residents. During the summer, the Rainbow Beach is also open. It is popular among tourists, and I had a short conversation with a family from Spain at the beach.

 

The Sakurajima Visitor Center, located behind the beach, is a volcano museum. There is a big screen showing explanatory videos, dioramas, and quizzes, so you can learn about Sakurajima in an easy-to-understand way. If you want to know more about Sakurajima, please visit!
